Focusing on Tianli’s Cross-provincial Scientific Research----Shandong Television’s News Topic “Breaking Through Chaerhan” Won the Third Prize of the China News Award

Recently, the results of the 34th China News Award were announced. The news feature “Break Through Chaerhan”, which was written by Shandong Television and focused on the cross-regional “open competition mechanism to select the best candidates” of Tianli, a subsidiary of Shandong Scitech Innovation Group, in overcoming the world-class technical difficulties in magnesium chloride dehydration in Qinghai, won the third prize.    

The Chaerhan Salt Lake in Qinghai is the world’s second largest salt lake and China’s largest chloride-type potassium-magnesium salt deposit, which can produce 420 million tons of raw magnesium. After two and a half years of scientific research, the project team of Tianli, solved the bottleneck such as wall sticking, powder explosion, and tray blockage in the preparation of anhydrous magnesium chloride from salt lake brine. The original production line of Qinghai Salt Lake Magnesium Industry was transformed into the world’s only production line with a production capacity of more than 6 tons per hour, achieving continuous and stable operation, and the results reached the international leading level.
